Tawa chicken is an easy and quick way of making chicken. Tawa chicken was originally invented in Lahore. The specialty of tawa chicken is to make the chicken on an iron pan (tawa). There are different methods of making chicken salan. Tawa chicken is also one of them. Tawa piece is also most common in Lahore. I will also share the tawa piece recipe as soon as possible.

Chicken ----- 1kg
Ginger paste ----- 1 tbsp
Garlic paste ----- 1 tbsp
Green chili paste ----- 1 tsp
Salt ----- 1 tbsp
Red chili powder ----- 1 tbsp
Coriander powder ----- 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder ----- 1/4th tsp
Tomatoes ----- 3 (medium)
Yogurt ----- 1 cup
Oil ----- 1 cup
Cumin seeds ----- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves ----- for garnish
Water ----- as required
Method:
Take a non-stick iron tawa and add oil to it. Turn the flame on and add ginger garlic paste. Cook it for 3 mins. Then add chicken to it and cook for 5mins. When the chicken's white color disappears then add salt, red pepper, turmeric powder, coriander powder, green chili paste, tomatoes, and a cup of water. Cook it until the tomatoes become tender and then add yogurt in it and cook it for 10mins. The delicious tawa chicken is ready for serve. Garnish it with coriander leaves and lemon and enjoy it with raita and nan.
